What are these maps, why did I create this website?

I live in the Galilee. Only in recent years I started to grasp the extend of what the zionist movement has done here in Palestine, and is still doing today. I started to learn about the Nakba, and I participated in excursions organized by zochrot.org, and I am learning a lot from their website, which also pointed me to the 1:20,000 topographical maps. I started collecting maps of Palestine, as it was before the Nakba, and I was stunned by the detailed topographical information clearly showing the hundreds of villages and towns that existed here, not long ago, and are today destroyed and wiped from the map. I feel that this mapping material is very strong and very important information.
Browsing individual map sheets is very inconvenient, so I spent a lot of effort to combine the sheets into one big mosaic-like map covering the whole of Palestine.
The main purpose of this website is to publish these maps, and make them easily accessible.
I hope to add some more maps and perhaps also aerial photos to this site

Technical issues

Usually the map loads quickly into the browser. But occasionally it seems to take some time. If the map looks blurry, you probably have to wait a bit more.
I hope that the website will remain responsive, even after traffic will (hopefully) increase. Please send me feedback if the website behaves really bad. Thanks.

This website was tested mainly on desktop browsers, but it seems to work reasonably well on android phones as well. Please let me know if you encounter problems. Thanks
